About Meal Belly

With our hectic lifestyles, our nutrition tends to suffer as we opt for convenience food rather than preparing our own meals. We wanted to change that.

To make home cooking an attractive and viable option for the masses, we thought to ourselves: what ingredients could make cooking healthy, affordable, and convenient at the same time?

From there, we discovered green caviar and Meal Belly was born.


What is green caviar & where do you find it?

Green caviar is part of the seaweed family, and is known scientifically as Caulerpa lentillifera. Other names for it include sea grapes seaweed or Umi-budo. This superfood is traditionally found in the waters of Okinawa, but it has since spread to other parts of the world. And with advancements in farming technology, we are able to source this rare superfood from the quiet waters of South Vietnam, where its freshness and quality is preserved till it reaches you.

What are its health benefits?

A tasty and affordable superfood, green caviar packs a nutritional punch. Here are some of the benefits of the vitamin and minerals that it contains.

Vitamin A:  Helps to maintain a healthy eyesight and promotes skin regeneration for better skin.

Vitamin C: Strengthens the immune system, prevents stroke, cardiovascular and other diseases.

Calcium: Keeps bones strong, which prevents onset of osteoporosis.

Iodine: Prevents thyroid disease, which can lead to dry skin, constipation, weight gain, fatigue and other symptoms.

Green Caviar Farming

Farming
Due to its delicate nature, we grow our green caviar in a sheltered environment, under very specific conditions. We provide them with the right water temperature, seawater salt content and amount of sun exposure, for them to develop into a nutritious and tasty superfood.

Harvesting
To keep the green caviar at its optimal freshness, we dive into the waters with snorkels and harvest our green caviar carefully by hand.

Inspection
The freshly-harvested green caviar undergoes a quality control inspection before being filtered through a multi-step washing process, where they are washed and soaked with highly-oxygenated water. This makes it safe for you to eat them straight!

Shipping & Delivery
The product is weighed, sorted and packed before making its way to our office here in Singapore. Your order will then be delivered to you within 1 to 2 days – hooray!
